Somerset and Bath Wedding Celebrant

Frequently Asked Questions

A wedding celebrant creates and leads a fully personalised ceremony, which is about sharing your love story and values, along with personalities and your journey together. Unlike a registrar, a celebrant is not restricted by scripts, venues or legal wording.  You are able to have a ceremony anywhere that feels right for you both, it could be in a garden woodland, barn or family home.

A celebrant designs and delivers a bespoke, non-legal ceremony, while a registrar or religious minister has legal authority to register a marriage.  With a celebrant, you get complete flexibility and a ceremony that truly represents you both.

Most couples book between 9-18 months in advance, especially for popular summer weekends.  Once you have chosen the venue and dates it is advisable to secure your celebrant so that we can begin crafting your ceremony. That said, if your wedding is soon, do get in touch as I sometimes have last-minute availability.

I can help guide you on the process here in the UK as you will need to book a short legal ceremony with your local register office for legal element.  After that your celebrant-led ceremony is real celebration, with your vows, rings, readings and personal touches surrounded by your family and friends making it more about the celebration of your love and commitment to each other rather than the legalities.

Absolutely, I am proud to create ceremonies for all couples.  Every celebration is approached with warmth respect and joy.

Absolutely. Whether you would like to include a prayer, a handfasting, a unity candle or any meaningful tradition, I would be happy to guide you through this making sure it blends seamlessly into your ceremony so it feels authentic and personal to you both.

Most ceremonies last around 45 minutes, this of course is dependent on the number or readings, music, and additional symbolic actions.  My role is to ensure the plan and flow of the ceremony is perfect and guide you.

Yes! I love that part! I will guide you through vow-writing and can share examples of poems, music ideas and readings; while getting to know you I will have the opportunity to share inspiring ideas whether this is romantic, funny or heartfelt, I will work to find the perfect fit.

Yes, rehearsals can be arranged. It is a great way to calm any nerves and ensure everyone knows exactly what to do on the day.

A non-refundable booking fee secures your date and the early planning and writing stages.  If you need to reschedule, I will always do my best to accommodate your new date (subject to availability).
